Why should we be successful?

There are different motivational factors for different persons. The motivational factors also change with age.
For example, a person aspired to become an engineer, to  earn a high income after his studies. 
He puts in hard work, with financial support from his father and a merit scholarship he completes his education and after a few attempts lands up in a good job. 
The time passes and he grows to become a senior manager and has control on many lives.
His motivational factor changes to having a house, a car and many more status related issues. 
He gets married and has a family. 
The time passes and he lives his life with many challenges and  finally takes retirement.
His motivational factor changes to give back to the society, who nurtured him during his growing years.   
He picks up ,online teaching and grows a strong student base and lectures on the biggest challenges, which he himself faced during his struggling years.
For him the biggest challenge was that he was reticent, and he fumbled when he spoke in a sales conference or forgot about what to utter. 
During all these years, he had mastered the art of speaking in public and learnt how to put his point across effectively. There were many ingredients he had put in, such as mastering English language, public speaking, practicing  the subject of his talk to get over his fear. 
Life takes many turns, to be short  life can become as good as one wants it to be.
